The Department of Leadership and Counseling at the University of Idaho is seeking a full-time, non-tenure track Clinical Faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to join our Educational Leadership team. This position is contingent on work and/or funding. Rank is negotiable based on how the candidate meets the criteria outlined in the department and college bylaws. This position is designed for a dynamic educator and practitioner committed to preparing future K-12 administrators, including principals, superintendents, and directors of special education.
Key responsibilities include:
The role emphasizes teaching excellence with no research obligations. The position offers flexibility for remote work, with some required in-person attendance for new faculty orientation and select college-level meetings. There is potential for an annual summer contract, to be negotiated with the Department Chair/Dean.
We are looking for a candidate who can contribute significantly to our mission of developing effective educational leaders for Idaho’s schools.
This position has a flexible work location, and the candidate has the option of working out of our Boise or Moscow campuses or work remotely with a few required in-person events such as new faculty orientation and select college-level meetings.

The Department of Leadership and Counseling at the University of Idaho is a pioneer in preparing individuals to lead, solve problems, and shape a healthier future for our citizens. Our faculty, spanning two graduate disciplines, are located across the Moscow, Boise, and Coeur d’Alene campuses, as well as working remotely. We serve students throughout Idaho and across the nation who are pursuing advanced degrees in Educational Leadership ( EDAD ) and Leadership and Organization Development ( LOD ).

Contingency Description:
This faculty appointment is contingent on funding and/or work to support the position. Employee acknowledges and agrees that in the event of insufficient funding and/or work, as determined by University in its sole discretion, University may: (1) change this Agreement by adjusting the employee’s FTE and annual salary throughout the contract year; or (2) terminate this Agreement and employee’s employment prior to the end of the term of appointment, upon 60 days written notice. Employee further acknowledges and agrees that in the event termination for insufficient funding and/or work becomes necessary, the notice provisions of Faculty Staff Handbook 3900B will not apply.
